Sarah Jessica Parker Talks Sex and the City
and Hocus Pocus Sequels
Fans want to see Sarah Jessica Parker reprise those beloved big screen roles, and the actress wants to as well!
On Thursday’s episode of Watch What Happens Live, the Divorce star dished some new details on the possibilities of a Sex and the City 3 as well as the Halloween classic Hocus Pocus 2.
“I’m not able to put it in percentages,” Parker, 51, told BFF Andy Cohen about how likely it is for her to play Carrie Bradshaw again. The original film hit theaters in February 2004 and the second installment was released in May 2010. As someone who answers a plethora of SATC questions frequently, SJP revealed the unique metaphor she uses to answer sequel inquiries.
“There’s an old fashioned thing called a warming drawer and it keeps the plates warm so when you serve the main course the food stays warm so I’ve been saying it’s in the warming drawer,” she said, adding, “That will keep people perplexed.”
While SJP has previously taken the Big Apple in Carrie’s Manolo Blahnik heels, will she ever reteam with her evil witch sisters in Salem, Massachusetts? “I would love that,” Parker said about filming a sequel to the 1993 Disney film. “I think we’ve all been fairly vocal about being very keen but that hasn’t created any ground swell of movement.”
But don’t get too excited about a Hocus Pocus 2. Parker’s former costar Bette Midler debunked the sequel rumors in November 2015 when she shared, “After all these years and all the fan demand, I do believe I can stand and firmly say an unequivocal no.”
